About the branch

Hello and welcome to the East of England Ambulance UNISON branch.

We hope you will find this a useful place to learn about our branch of UNISON and what we do, and find out the latest on current issues.

The East of England Ambulance UNISON branch works with a number of employers with the majority of members employed by East of England Ambulance NHS Trust (EEAT). UNISON has a voluntary recognition with the EEAT to work in partnership to help support employees. We hope you will find this site useful for information on our current branch issues, your branch contacts and if you’re not yet a member, why you should join today!

What is UNISON?

UNISON is Britain’s biggest public sector union with more than 1.2 million members – people working in the public services, for private contractors providing public services and in the essential utilities. UNISON is a national, campaigning union and over three quarters of members are women.

The branch is represented by branch committee officers, who focus on specific issues within the workforce. Workplace stewards are members’ first point of call for any enquiries and workplace contacts are well placed to ask about branch issues.

Branch activities include negotiating and working with employers on local issues and local policies and procedures that will help members as well as those issues that affect members regionally and nationally. UNISON representatives provide invaluable advice and support. Disciplinary and grievance procedures or professional registration issues may be the last thing on your mind, but there may come a time when UNISON are needed to help you.
