AAPs TO GET BAND 5 PAY UPLIFT AS A RESULT OF UNISON / TRUSTNEGOTIATIONS

We have been in discussions with Trust about the Senior EMT Pay band Agreement. We considered it to be unfair that the agreement was not being applied to AAPs despite the roles being very almost identical in their nature and Scope of Practice. This meant that, in our opinion, AAPs were being treated differently based solely on a job title.

As an outcome of the negotiations all AAPs / EMTs who would have qualified by the 1st February 2021 will be able to progress to Band 5 under the terms of the existing Senior EMT agreement.

In addition to the uplift to Band 5, back pay will also be awarded to the point at which you would have qualified for the uplift, subject to eligibility. For back pay and uplift to Band 5 this will be one year post qualification

There will be a requirement for AAPs to renamed to EMT, but this will not impact on your existing Unsocial Hours arrangements and your qualification will still be that of AAP.

Locality Managers will be provided with a pre-populated list of staff that will be eligible to progress on to Band 5 and the process will commence on Wednesday 25th November.
