UNISON attended an Essex Police Continued Professional Development training event for TRiM practitioners at Wat Tyler Park, Pitsea on Friday 12th October.
Delegates were invited from Essex Police, East of England Ambulance, Essex Fire Service and Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.Following an address by the Assistant Chief Constable Pippa Mills, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance spoke to the delegates about trauma care.
Other items on the programme included a talk by Rupert King, Existential Psychologist about the benefits of gardening as an antidote to stressful working situations.
Delegates were able to visit the Marketplace area in the Green Centre to talk to The Police Dependants’ Trust, Police Mutual and UNISON.
UNISON were on hand to talk to delegates about the benefits of belonging to UNISON not only for employment advice but especially access to our welfare service following stressful incidents, PTSD, advice and support and financial help following illness, accident, bereavement, family break up etc
The day closed with an awards ceremony with just enough time to get a glimpse of the beautiful surroundings of Wat Tyler Park.
